Caring Community Committee
Shir Tikvah is a caring community that also has a Caring Committee, Yad B’Yad.  This group helps congregants strengthen their connection to Shir Tikvah and to each other, working hand in hand - to help meet the needs of our congregants and to offer ongoing support.  Behind the scenes, we send cards, make phone calls, make meals, and provide shiva support. We are looking for you!

Need support?  We are here for you!
In an emergency, please call Shir Tikvah at 612-822-1440.
Our after-hours emergency line is:  612-787-7447

Please let one of our clergy know what's going on and they will deploy our volunteers.  Reach out to:

Rabbi Michael Adam Latz:   Rabbilatz@shirtikvah.net
Rabbi Debra Rappaport:   Rabbirappaport@shirtikvah.net

Rabbi Arielle Lekach-Rosenberg: Rabbirosenberg@shirtikvah.net

Want to help?
Becoming involved is an opportunity to provide practical and meaningful assistance and support to members of our congregation.  You can join the committee that meets quarterly or you can volunteer to assist with cards, calls, visits, meals, or visits/calls as it works with your schedule.  If you are interested please contact Bonnie Westlin:  Bonnie.westlin@comcast.net

Shiva

Grieving members are supported by Shir Tikvah volunteers. They assist at the shiva by taking care of all duties and bringing supplies that may be needed so that the family may be with and comforted by the persons who have come to express their condolences.

Meals and Cards

In various times of need Shir Tikvah volunteers reach out to members through cards to let folks know we are thinking about them and by providing meals.

We appreciate your help in making Shir Tikvah a welcoming community.

Morning Star Singers are a comfort choir for anyone who is or knows someone who could use support, whether for illness, depression, broken leg, or near death, and for whom bringing music and song would be of comfort.

People can call to have a "sing" for any reason and 4-6 singers will go to them and sing sweet songs, always with the situation in mind. To learn more, visit the website or contact Lisa Mer
